1. Quick Fixes for the "USB Keeps Disconnecting and Reconnecting" Error This error might be caused by hardware or system-specific issues. So to make things easier, let’s start by exploring a few quick fixes: Reboot your PC immediately when you encounter this issue. Ensure your device has sufficient power.
Disconnect all USB devices, except mouse and keyboard. Then open Device Manager and expand list under USB. Double-click a root hub and then click its Power Management tab. Uncheck that box, click OK back to main Device Manager screen and repeat for all root hubs, and then reboot. See if that solves the problem. Packrat12.
This cycle repeats regularly every 30-ish seconds causing a near constant disconnect/reconnect sound to play along with the monitor waking and sleeping. The LG monitor has a built-in USB hub but I don't have any devices connected to those USB ports at all. This ONLY occurs when connected via USB-C. The issue does not occur over HDMI.
Step 6. Select the "Power Management" tab. Select the "Power Management" tab. Clear the checkmark from Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power. Click "OK."
I saw my headset disconnecting from my PC randomly when I added a 1ft USBc extension as a break away cable in case I yanked the cord. What it eventually turned out to be was the cable itself was causing my USB3.1 port to not be recognized as USB3.1. There was a warning indicator in the device list of the Oculus app that showed this.
